Meet Jasmine N. Story, Esq.

Jasmine was raised in the inner-city as the oldest child in a very-low income, single-parent home.  As a youngster, Jasmine struggled in school.  Money was extremely tight, and the family moved frequently – by the time she completed middle school Jasmine had attended nine schools in two states.

Passing through metal detectors to get into her high school every morning, she was painfully aware of where she was and where she was headed if she didn’t take steps to change her trajectory. So, as a high school sophomore, Jasmine made the decision to do whatever was necessary to position herself for future success.  She was accepted to Rutgers University and went on to attend The George Washington University Law School, one of the top law schools in the country, graduating with honors.

Originally intent on practicing Environmental law, Jasmine discovered her passion for Family law while working for a local firm as she studied for the bar exam.  She found that her childhood had prepared her for many of the unpleasant realities of child custody and divorce, and she could relate to families attempting to navigate the system.  Jasmine immediately saw herself reflected in the faces of her clients’ and their children.

Jasmine takes a holistic approach to her cases and works toward solutions that take each member of the family into account.  She understands that going to war with a soon-to-be ex-spouse can result in financial hardship for both parties. Therefore, Jasmine believes that the best results are rooted in civility and an amicable, collaborative approach.  Cases move through the system more quickly and easily when everyone is working toward a common goal.  Always a realist, Jasmine fully recognizes that with some cases amicable, collaborative solutions are impossible to achieve, and in those instances, she is a staunch advocate, ferociously defending her clients in order to get the best possible results.

While all legal matters tend to be unique, this is especially true of family law cases.  No two families are the same – family dynamics, number of children, lifestyle – these variables are what make each case like no other.  Likewise, no two family law attorneys are the same.  Many attorneys have a one-size-fits-all approach and offer the same advice and strategy to all their clients, regardless of the actual circumstances of the case.

Jasmine’s belief is that each case is different and must be handled differently. The most favorable outcomes are achieved crafting a case strategy that addresses all the nuances and issues of your case.  So, Jasmine specializes in developing creative, individualized solutions to difficult problems.

Additionally, her approach stands in stark contrast to the traditional hourly billing paradigm, which often results in unpredictable and exorbitant legal fees. Jasmine's commitment to transparency and client empowerment led her to adopt a flat fee structure, ensuring that her clients have complete control over their legal costs from the outset.
